    For a concert:
    1. Try to get a high optical zoom. There are ultrazooms that go up to about 20X optical zoom. If that still isn't enough, consider a camcorder instead.
    2. Try to get image stabilization. The type of stabilization doesn't really matter.
    3. Pay attention to low light performance. The stage may seem bright to you, but it might not be enough for a camera with a small sensor. Get a camera with a large sensor (like an SLR). Keep in mind, there's often a tradeoff between sensor size and zoom ability.
    4. Find out in advance about any rules. Some concerts allow cameras, but only up to a certain size.
